Classroom Expectations

Discipline Plan

These are my expectations for our first grade classroom. Students and I came up with these procedures and rules together during our first week of school to ensure that we have a safe, productive, and a caring environment that will help us become successful learners. We have been discussing these rules along with the consequences, rewards, and their importance at school.

Classroom Rules:

Be an attentive listener. Follow directions the first time they are given.

Work neatly and quietly.

Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

Raise your hand and wait to be called upon before speaking.

Be respectful. No put-downs! (No name-calling or teasing.)

Classroom Guidelines:

Use walking feet at all times.

Take turns.

Work quietly and don't interrupt others.

Use inside voices.

Do the assigned work in your seat.

Clean up after yourself.

Do your best!

Praise/ Phone call home.

Raffles, stickers.

Good citizen certificate.

Be our scout!

If a child chooses to break a rule, following consequences will be imposed
Students are warned the first time they break a rule.
Time out and removal from the activity for not being an attentive listener.

Miss recess for not finishing classwork.

Time out if one doesn't keep hands, feet, and objects to him/herself

Blurt Card (owe 22 seconds) for not raising hand before speaking.

Phone call home for putting down others as its not acceptable.

Severe misbehavior, such as fighting or verbal abuse will result in the immediate  imposition of the Severe  Clause: Send to the principal.

I have already discussed this plan with your child. Please review these rules, guidelines, rewards, and the consequences with your child.

Thank you for your support,

Ms. Jain
